On Monday, November 21, 2016, the students of Civil Engineering Department at Komar University of Science and Technology have visited the Dukan Dam as a part of Water Resources Curriculum.
Dr Yaseen Ahmed, the lecturer of the Water Resources course, arranged the field trip and coordination with authorities of the Dukan Dam. This trip was essential to enhance the student’s knowledge about water resources management by connecting the theoretical in-class lectures and real-life implementation of water resources management. It also highlighted the application of hydraulic structures.
Students visited different parts of the Dam and provided with detailed information about the construction, type and structure of the dam. The employees of the Dukan Dam demonstrated the function and operation of this critical structure.
Komar University of Science and Technology thanked the Directorate of Dukan Dam, especially Engineer Mr. Salam for his cooperation and help.
