Students from Civil Engineering at Komar University Visited Darbandikhan Dam

On Wednesday, 13th November 2019, a group of civil engineering students at Komar University, visited Darbandikhan Dam. The trip was accompanied by Dr. Ako Rashid Hama (The Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering) and Mr. Bilal Mohammed (The Coordinator of the Department).

In the beginning, students were welcomed by Mr. Abdulrahman Xani (The Director of Darbandikhan Dam Directorate). He showed a 3D model of the dam and gave some important highlights about it.

Then students have been introduced to the topographic situation of the dam. Furthermore, in-depth information about the main components of the dam was provided to students by the engineers and the administration staff of the dam. In the trip, students have learned the application of academic programs taught in classes in real-world projects. Moreover, they learned more about the hydropower station of the dam, the structure of the dam and the effect of the last earthquake on it.

At the end of the trip, on behalf of Komar University for Science and Technology and Civil Engineering department, Dr. Ako Rashid Hama thanked the directorate of Darbandikhan dam for their anticipated cooperation and guidance.
