A joint class between Komar University and Budapest University students

In an attempt to introduce our students to an international teaching environment, a joint class was held for the students from Komar University and the students at Budapest University.

The class was mastered by our faculty member Mr. Sardasht S. Weli (Ph.D. Candidate at Budapest University). The class was held at the Komar University campus, while the students from Budapest University joined the class through Team (an online platform for distance learning). The lecture concerns the design and analysis of multi-story buildings subjected to seismic loadings. It is emphasized that such design requires high-infidelity software such as Robot Structural Analysis. It is worth mentioning that the KUST students are taking courses about the software application which cover Revit and Robot Structural Analysis in the last year of their study. By which, they will be familiar with the newest software application in the world.

As it is clear from the past years, our region faced several earthquake incidents. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to include the seismic design and analysis in our curriculum. Later the students will be familiar with designing the high-rise structures against seismic loads. During the class, both university students had a joint discussion to broaden both sides understanding.
